CJK Champions Safety During CIF Construction Safety Campaign 2024
In October, CJK proudly participated in the CIF Construction Safety Campaign 2024, bringing our teams together across all sites to reinforce the importance of safety, health, and well-being. This year’s theme, “Focus on Critical Risks”, emphasised the need for awareness and proactive measures to prevent workplace incidents.
Campaign Highlights
Week 1: Mental Health & Workplace Wellness
We began with a strong focus on mental health and well-being. Louise Adamson from Michael’s Story delivered a powerful talk, highlighting the devastating impact of safety failings and the need for personal responsibility. Our teams also engaged in toolbox talks on suicide awareness, stress management, and work-life balance, encouraging open conversations around these critical topics.
Week 2: Tackling Critical Risks
The second week shifted to physical safety, with comprehensive sessions on working at height, hand and pinch point safety, and live demos of LOTO, COHE, and MEWP operations. Discussions on managing mobile phone distractions and moving plant safety further solidified the importance of staying vigilant. The CIF Ireland Construction Safety Campaign 2024 has come to a close, and we’re proud to have seen such strong engagement from our CJK teams. During the final week, our teams delivered toolbox talks on critical topics, including moving plant & equipment safety and managing mobile phone distractions on site.
To wrap up the campaign, all of the CJK team received breakfast or breakfast vouchers as a small thank you for their focus and dedication to safety, particularly over the last 2 weeks.
Through presentations, workshops, and hands-on demonstrations, CJK’s managers, supervisors, and site teams showcased their dedication to fostering a safer workplace. A big thank you also to our clients & main contractor partners for allowing us to take the lead in delivering impactful safety initiatives on their projects.
