We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Estimator to join our team. As an Electrical Estimator, you will be responsible for analysing project specifications, conducting site visits, and preparing accurate estimates for electrical projects. Your expertise in electrical systems and your ability to interpret blueprints and technical documents will be crucial in determining material, labour, and other cost estimates. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical and organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Analyse project specifications, architectural drawings, and electrical blueprints to determine the scope of work and electrical requirements.
• Conduct on-site visits and collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other relevant stakeholders to assess project needs and gather necessary information for accurate cost estimation.
• Prepare detailed electrical cost estimates, including material, labour, and equipment costs, in accordance with project requirements and industry standards.
• Identify and quantify project risks, contingencies, and variations to ensure accurate cost projections.
• Research and source electrical materials, equipment, and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
• Collaborate with suppliers, contractors, and vendors to obtain quotes and negotiate pricing.
• Prepare and submit comprehensive bid proposals and tender documents within specified timelines.
• Review project documentation and attend pre-bid meetings to clarify project requirements and address inquiries from clients.
• Keep abreast of industry trends, regulations, and technological advancements related to electrical estimating.
• Provide support during project execution by reviewing and validating change orders and providing updated cost estimates as necessary.
• Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure accurate handover of cost estimates and project details.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred. Relevant work experience will also be considered.
• Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator in the construction or electrical industry.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and regulations.
• Proficiency in interpreting electrical blueprints, specifications, and technical documents.
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills to accurately estimate costs.
• Proficient in using electrical estimation software and tools.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with project stakeholders, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Familiarity with project management principles and practices.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Competitive salary depending on experience.
Position based in CJK head office.
Working Time 39 hours per week but this will vary on certain weeks dependant on tender deadlines.
