Stephen Ryan, Working at Height Instructor, from Nationwide Safety Training Network Limited, gave an engaging demonstration on Working Safely at Height yesterday on our Irish Distillers project.
He took our team through the many precautions required to execute safe working at height practices, including the critical importance of risk assessment we all need to consider before performing any task at a height.
The demonstration included working from Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs) including emergency lowering in the event of a working at height incident. Other topics covered were the safe use of ladders including inspection and working on fragile surfaces (roof works).
We also held safe working at height stand downs on all our project sites to raise awareness of the importance of working safely at heights and using site equipment correctly to prevent incidents.
